Skecher's GO Walk 2 Shoes - a Shoe Review
Skecher's GO Walk 2 shoes are advertised as a shoe to provide all day walking comfort. Do they live up to their promises? I bought a pair to find out.
Skechers advertises these shoes as performance walking shoes which mimic the feel of being barefoot, yet provide excellent cushioning, support and traction. I ordered a pair of black Axis Skechers from Shoebuy.com, a site that carries many lines of shoes. This is a black fabric shoe with a black sole. Having a black sole makes the shoe appear less like athletic wear, which is what I was aiming for.
The first thing I noticed when the shoes arrived was how light in weight they are. The Axis, like most of the GO Walk 2's, is a slip-on shoe. They seemed true to size, as they fit pretty well. But the real test would be in walking. I wore the shoes into town where I'd be stopping in several stores. They are very comfortable as a street shoe. They are flexible, and have a very cushioned, non-skid sole.
The only problem I found with the Skecher's shoes may be a result of these being a slip-on versus tie-up style. I can't get quite the precise fit that I find in lace-up walking shoes. The shoes slip up and down just a tad when walking fast. I don't believe that a smaller size would remedy this, as the shoes would be uncomfortably tight in a smaller size. I found that heel grips helped remedy the slippage. I don't mind the fact that I can't take a long power walk in these shoes though, as that was never my intention. I bought them to have a casual and comfortable alternative to athletic shoes. They are perfect for this use. Skecher's GO Walk 2 shoes are casual shoes that are as comfortable as slippers.
The real test of any shoe is, "Would I buy another pair?" Yes, I would definitely buy another pair of these Skecher's shoes. They are comfortable for everyday walking, and so light that they would be great to pack for travel. I'm already cruising "Shoebuy" to see what color I might want next!
