What the at-home employee will wear in 2020
Let it be said that I have long been recognized as a fashion maven. In fact my children often have a religious experience when they see my latest stylings. They have often been known to explain" OH MY GOD" or "Christ, where did you buy that?"
And I am open to fashion advice. But it would help if it were not delivered in a sarcastic manner, Just the other day, I was wearing a blue shirt, a blue sweater and blue jeans. And my son and daughter kept calling me Mr. Gainsborough all day. As in Thomas Gainsborough, who painted "Blue Boy."
But their attitudes have changed. Or so I thought. I was flattered when my daughter wanted to borrow one of my Christmas sweaters. Of course, only later, did I find that her boyfriend wore it to a "Tacky Christmas Party".
Frankly my son and daughter will have to suffer and I will never take them clothes shopping with me. They did not view this as a threat.
Anyway back to the subject at hand. Forget about office wear for 2020. My only advice in that area is that every man must shave his legs and wear shorts to work. Why not? We make women wear skirts and shave their legs. So men should do it too, isn't that what equality is all about?
But home office wear advice is "stick to the basics". Buy some cotton sweatpants at Wal-Mart and a cotton sweatshirt at Wal-Mart. The entire outfit should cost about 12 bucks. I prefer black as it does not show coffee stains. Be sure to buy the pants and sweatshirt about a size too large. No point in being uncomfortable. Also get some slippers.
Hmm, well that takes care of the home office fashion advice. True fashion designers like to keep it simple. You can mix it up. You can also buy a blue sweatsuit. Stay away from white, or after a few spills, you kids will start calling you Spot.
Trust me on this.
And of course, if you do need to leave the house, perhaps the best advice I can offer is wait until dark.
