The Game of Thrones....Why Oh Why Must the Good Ones Die?

If I were George RR Martin for a day, I would rewrite who stays and who goes. You would be surprised at who I chose to let live and who must be let go on GOT.

My girlfriend had to endure three seasons of watching my emotional roller coaster ride as I religiously watched HBO's hit series, the Game of Thrones. She couldn't understand my obsession, outrage and disbelief over a simple TV series. So I let her watch all three seasons and I watched her dismay, outrage, tears and disbelief of what Author George RR Martin created. She cried like a school girl and she never questioned my sanity again. The question we both have is why oh why must the good one die.

There are so many other eligible candidates that deserve a beheading instead of the honorable Ned Stark (season 1) or the victims of the "Red Wedding" in season 3. The Starks were our champions. They were our hope against the evil plots and schemes of Westeros. So as the 3rd season ended I began questioning the motives of George RR Martin and how I could have done a better job of picking who should have exited the storyline. So here is my take on who should be tossed out of Westeros permanently.

Obviously most hardcore GOT fans would pick one of the Lannisters to reach an untimely demise for your own reason. Personally I would love to pen the fall of King Joffrey or Cersei Lannister. It would be an epic demise and the good guys would win. But sadly that is not who I want removed from the story line. That is to obvious and predictable despite how much I despise their characters. I have also grown fond of Tyrion Lannister (the dwarf) so he would stay in the storyline.

I love the Starks. I really do. The exception being Sansa Stark. She needs to go. Her character is very weak, irritating, scared and whiney. After her father was beheaded in season one, you would have thought she would be rebellious at King Joffrey for his betrayal. I thought for sure she would become a stronger woman but she became weaker. Sansa had an opportunity to push King Joffrey off the wall in earlier episodes but she couldn't follow through. She became a robot, repeating her loyalty aloud to King Joffrey and to whoever was in hearing distance. She repeatedly calls her father a traitor to appease everyone for her own selfish needs.

Her character really has no impact in this story line. The two Stark brothers still live and one is heir to Winterfell. There is no future for Sansa Stark in Westeros. She is the oldest Stark but also the weakest. Winter is coming and I place my bet on the Stark boys before her to fend what's coming in the night. If I were the Lannisters, I would marry her to some Dothraki Khal and maybe just maybe he would make a woman out of her.
