'Burn Notice' Season Six Ends: The Day the Running Stopped
The last episode of the season for “Burn Notice,” “You Can Run” Part One and Part Two, had everything in it, including gun fights, hair breadth escapes, Michael’s commentary on spy craft, and all the other things in a good “Burn Notice” episode.
The last episode of the season for "Burn Notice," "You Can Run" Part One and Part Two, had everything in it, including gun fights, hair breadth escapes, Michael's commentary on spy craft, and all the other things in a good "Burn Notice" episode.
Some spoilers surely follow.
One gets the inescapable takeaway that, for all her toughness and lanky beauty, Fi can be an irritatingly whiney little trollop. How else to explain her reaction to Michael winding up back in the fold once everything was over?
Let's see. The episode featured Jesse being captured, tortured, and rescued. Sam was shot and almost died several times. We find out that Olivia, the driven CIA agent who was after them, had decided to forget the rules, the United States Constitution, and common sense in her pursuit of Michael and company. She was actually working with a Drug Cartel she was so obsessed. Finally, everyone was thrown into one of those secret prisons and interrogated within an inch of their lives until Michael worked out a deal that got everyone free.
All Michael had to do was to go back to work for the Agency. In fact, it looked like he had an increase in rank and pay. And Fi just couldn't stand it.
Yes, that dream of her and Michael running away together to enjoy the quiet life was deferred once again. My suspicion that two weeks of that and Fi would be itching to blow something up or shoot some bad guy in the head. She is just built that way.
So, one supposes that in the beginning voice over starting next season it will be "trigger happy ex-girl friend" once again.
My advice is for Michael to move on and find himself a babe who will not smooch him one moment and slap him around the next. Sam would be of some help in this area. He has friends all over the place, and surely they have friends as well.
In the meantime, we have to wait until summer for more "Burn Notice." Fortunately, "Justified" is just around the corner. Now Raylan Givens and Michael Weston are two guys who really should meet.
