Tips to Help Relieve Stress When You Work at Home
People think those of us who work at home have it easy. That's funny, and if they ever walked a day in our shoes, they would surely put that myth to rest. Allow me to help you relieve some of your work at home stress.
People think those of us who work at home have it easy. That's funny, and if they ever walked a day in our shoes, they would surely put that myth to rest. If you are working at home full time, you know that it can become very stressful and some days your job may require you to work 12 - 16 hours a day. I have been there and I am still there some days, so I had to come up with a way to keep from pulling my hair out. Here are some of the things I do to relieve my stress at home when I am working and I wanted to pass them on to you.
Take Frequent Breaks
The most important thing to do if you work at home is take frequent breaks. Work for an hour and take a 10 to 15 minute break. You should do this every hour you work. It will keep you from stressing, giving yourself a headache, and pulling your hair out. Go to the bathroom, grab you something to drink, step outside for a minute. Also, while on your break, don't just sit there. Get up and do something to stretch your legs and relieve some pressure on your back. Sitting at a desk all day will make your back and legs hurt really bad. That is on top of stressing and pulling your hair out. So, every hour, take a break.
Set Time Aside for Home Chores
While you are working, don't be stressing over the house chores. Sometime during your day, set an hour aside to do your home chores. If you do this every day, you won't have to worry about your home getting all messy and out of shape. An hour a day will give you plenty of time to clean your home. You can do this first thing when you wake up, in the middle of the day, or at night before you go to bed. Whichever is more convenient for you and your situation.
Set Time Aside for a Daily Walk
Another thing you need to set time aside for is a daily walk. Those of us who work at home sit at a desk 80% of the day and that will take a toll on your back and legs. So, setting time aside every day to take you a little walk will not only help with the physical strain, but it will also help you clear your mind and relieve some stress. I do 30 minutes a day and that is plenty of time for me to relax, destress, and get ready to go at it again.
These three things have helped me tremendously and I hope they help you as well. Working at home is not easy and I am the first one to tell you that. So, use these three tips to make things easier for you and a little less stressful.
