Lebron James is a Legend in the Making for the Entire Sports World
This article is about Lebron James and his remarkable accomplishments making him the best current athlete in sports and argues that he truly is better than Jordan and the next big thing in basketball and beyond.
No other player in NBA history has accomplished so much at such a young age. At the age of 20 Lebron was the fastest player ever to score 3500 career points. In his second year Lebron improved in every statistically category averaging 27 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists per game while leading a mediocre team to it's first winning season in 7 years. Lebron was named the rookie of the year in 2004 and was selected as an NBA twice before reaching 20 years of age, the same age as a second year college kid. At the age of 20 Michael Jordan was not even in the NBA.
Despite all of his accomplishments many critics are still skeptical of his ability to win. With such built up expectations and so much hype upon Lebron's arrival to the league many are scratching their heads asking why Lebrons' Cavs fail to make it over that last hurdle to elevate themselves from a playoff team to a contender. Critics cite the fact that Michael Jordan never failed to take his team to the playoffs in his illustrious career with the Chicago Bulls, while Lebron took 3 years to get his team to the playoffs. What the critics are missing is that the Bulls made the playoffs with a woeful 30-52 record in Jordan's second season. Lebrons' Cavs won 42 games in 2005 and still fell short of the playoffs.
Despite what anyone may say about Lebron James not being as good as he was made out to be, the facts remain that Lebron James is the better after three seasons in the league than any other player was at the same point in their careers. He has proven both on and off the court that he is a class act. He has handled his fame remarkably well and continues to silence the naysayers with each passing day. My prediction is when it is all said and done King James will reign supreme as the greatest athlete in sports history.
