Levi Johnston Running for Mayor of Wasilla on New Reality TV Show
Levi Johnston has announced to Variety.com that he is running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. The reality show which chronicles his journey is called "Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor's Office".
Just a few days ago, Johnston was in the news when his ex, Bristol Palin, told People Magazine that she was "done with Levi", citing his need for the limelight as part of the reason. This news comes on the heels of the couple's announcement to US Weekly that they were engaged for the second time.
Perhaps the fact that Johnston admitted that he may have impregnated his ex-girlfriend, Lanesia Garcia, was what sent Bristol over the edge along with his participation in a music video mocking the Palin. (Johnston co-starred in a video with R B; singer Brittani Senser about two lovers who find the woman's meddling mom has driven them apart.)
Nonetheless, if Johnston is craving the spotlight, he definitely has found it. At the urging of Stone and Company producers, the young Alaskan who calls himself a "half-redneck" is running for Mayor of Wasilla.
In fact, Stone and Company reportedly feels that the idea of Levi Johnston running for mayor is not such a crazy idea. After all, Wasilla's current mayor won the election with a little over 460 votes.
Regarding running, Johnston told Variety, "The more I think about it and look into it, I think there's a possibility we can make it happen."
Johnston's manager, Tank Jones, said of Levi's running for office, "Let me put it to you like this: If you live in a town and things are happening in that town, and you're displeased with it, what do you do? You try to change those things. This is not a spoof. This is not a joke."
