What Are You Giving This Christmas?
What are you giving this Christmas? Give more than just gifts. Donate your unwanted toys, blankets, shoes, socks, clothes and coats to your local mission or Goodwill.
Let me bend your ear, your eyes and the page just a bit more. Giving. It is Christmas. Many on your Christmas gift giving list already have more than they need. That does not mean that you do not give them a gift. Oh no. Giving. It goes beyond those that you know. You know? So, what I do, every year is, well, I go through my entire house. I find any clothes, coats, shoes, canned goods and whatever I think someone can use. I bag it all up. Then, I put it my trunk.
Now, here is an important Christmas giving decision for me. Where do I take my gifts? Usually, I choose my local mission. This way, I am certain that my gifts will go to local needing families and folks. Coats, shoes, swim wear, dresses, jogging suits, jeans, all that I cannot wear anymore can indeed be worn by others proudly. I only donate good clothing and items. Now, during the year, I make other trips to Goodwill drop offs. I do try to spread my gifts around. Because, one man's junk is another's treasure. Be sure. It is so. Also, check with your relatives and let them look through your giving bag. They might need something.
OK. So, what are you giving this Christmas? It is a perfect time for gathering what you will never use again and giving it to those who will. As you go through your Christmas decorations, old clothes and unused items, save them in a bag and deliver them to your local mission, shelter or Goodwill. It feels so good and it will be appreciated and used. You can bet on that. So, gather your old coats, warm unloved socks and unwanted shoes. Give. Give them to someone who will need them so badly. It is easy! It is a great feeling. Most of all, it is the best Christmas gift that you can ever give. Ever.
Be Santa. You are, you know. Give. It feels good, it spreads hope, happiness and warmth. Whatever you have that you no longer want, some one else does. You better bet on that. Include your kids and ask them to gather any unwanted toys they may have that are in good condition. Old sheets, comforters and blankets, man, that means life to the cold and the homeless. Whatever you have. Give. It is Christmas. Truly. What are you giving? I bet, a lot. Merry Christmas!
