Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser Versus Biore Shine Control Foaming Cleanser
Neutrogena and Biore both offer a rather extensive line of facial cleansers, and both boast that their product is the best one for you and your facial cleansing needs. So which one really delivers on their claims of greatness?
Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser and Biore Shine Control Foaming Cleanser, both are facial cleansers, both cream-based cleansers, both are oil-free, but only one really delivers that all over clean and all over clean feeling that everybody needs at the end of the day; especially women wearing make-up!
Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser is lightly scented to accompany their very light pearl-esque looking formula. The Fresh Foaming Cleanser lathers nicely on the face, and washes off completely, taking with it dirt, oils, and make-up. Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser is the only of these two that does a good job at removing make-up and still leaving you with a clean "I-just-washed-my-face feeling." Biore Shine Control Foaming Cleanser does not remove make-up as well. I found it better suited to use in the morning when I haven't applied make-up and thus just want to remove the oil build up from the night before. For me, this was a serious up side offered by Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser, getting off make-up without having to use a separate make-up removing item saves time and money. Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser even removes black eyeliner and waterproof mascara with ease! I wasn't able to get the same effects from Biore's Shine Control Foaming Cleanser. Instead, it removed the oils and dirt from my face, and attempted to wash away the concealer, power, and eye make-up, but ended up leaving make-up residue on my face. It simply wasn't able to complete the task.
Pitting the two against each other in a non-make up cleansing test, I found Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser, and Biore's Shine Control Foaming Cleanser, on more even footing. Both provided a clean feeling with no left over residue. Both cleaned the oil and dirt from my face evenly. Both even maintained the "shine control" that Biore boasts in their Shine Control Foaming Cleanser. However, I had to use more Biore cleanser in order to get the same effects as the Neutrogena cleanser. Additionally, while Biore's Shine Control Foaming Cleanser did control shine and oil on my face, it also caused over drying in lesser oily areas such as the cheeks. This was a serious problem with the cleanser as I had to couple it with a rather heavy moisturizer in order to make-up for the drying effect. Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser didn't have this effect on my face.
For these reasons, Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Facial Cleanser won out over Biore's Shine Control Foaming Cleanser. Neutrogena's cleanser was a better overall cleanse as well as a better cleanser for those wearing make-up. As a price comparison, both Biore and Neutrogena cleansers are comparable in price, however, a make up wearer would have to couple the Biore Shine Control Foaming Cleanser with a good make-up remover making it more expensive than Neutrogena's Fresh Foaming Cleanser that cleans oils, dirt, and make-up in one wash. Additionally, since Neutrogena didn't cause over drying I was able to use a light moisturizer sparingly, as thus the oil control function of the cleanser actually worked. In contrast, I had to use a rather heavy moisturizer with the Biore Shine Control Foaming Cleanser to combat the dryness and thus the "shine control" or oil control feature was defeated. The added moisturizer caused my skin to get oily faster, but it was necessary t keep the irritating dryness in check.
Both Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser and Biore Shine Control Foaming Cleanser are oil free, they are cream based, and both boast oil control. However, it is only Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser that delivered on the claims. It delivered the best clean with the use of minimal formula while even taking off the toughest to clean make-up.
