This is why backlinks help you to gain high search engine results positions. Google has taken this a step further and measures the effect of a backlink by multiple factors. One of the most important factors is the authority of the web page that is providing a backlink to you. Another factor that is used to take into account the weight that a backlink holds is relevancy and anchor text.
